Drake mouthpieces are made by my sax tech’s brother, a great mouthpiece maker, in New Jersey I believe. I’ve tried a couple of these over the past year, but never for alto… big mistake. I’m totally in love with this new one I’m checking out.

Behind every good horn player is a great horn repairman, and I don’t know about the first part but I sure have the second. Saxology in Berkeley is a candy store for saxophonists, with a crazy selection of the very nicest vintage pieces - just checked out a really really really nice old Brilhart! Eric Drake is a super nice, super skilled and knowledgeable repairman, engraver, and mouthpiece...
